Read about the latest IntellectEU projects, events, and announcements in our monthly update.
This month, we reflect on Sibos 2024 and offer our take-aways from the event. And we invite readers to join us for Singapore FinTech Festival and The Bridge in New York.
Having just wrapped up at Sibos last week, here are our key take-aways from the event, and from the discussions we held with members of the Swift community and the wider financial industry.
Digital Assets are Gaining Momentum
Conversations during Sibos 2024 highlighted the pivotal role digital assets are playing in reshaping the financial ecosystem, focusing on how to address the key challenges of a successful transformation. IntellectEU continues to actively contribute to this evolution through our partnerships, innovative client projects, and our DLT enablement solution, Catalyst Blockchain Manager.
The DASCP Framework Shows the Way
DTCC/Clearstream/Euroclear’s paper, released in May, sparked considerable interest, offering a framework for managing risk and providing control for DLT-based securities. The paper 'Building the Digital Asset Securities Ecosystem' was a hot topic of conversation during Sibos, with an excellent roundtable discussion providing clarity for future digital-asset-driven financial markets.
Swift API Enablement
We were proud to have Jonathan Mayeur represent IntellectEU on the panel “Accelerating Cross-Border Payments with Front-End Innovation”, a topic close to our heart. In particular, panelists delved into how Swift gpi and SwiftRef are together enhancing embedded experiences for end customers.
Speakers also shared insights from the Swift Proof of Value initiative conducted to demonstrate this potential for innovation. Readers interested in learning more about the role of Swift APIs can explore the resources in our new Swift Knowledge Base.
ISO 20022 as the Industry Standard
Sibos highlighted the pivotal role of ISO 20022 in boosting data quality and unlocking innovation in financial messaging. Discussions showcased the rate of global adoption of the standard and explored pathways for organizations to transition smoothly to ISO 20022 — with support from Swift Сomplementors like IntellectEU.
Advancing the G20 Goals on Cross-Border Payments
The industry united to celebrate significant strides toward the G20’s goals for improving cross-border payment experiences, enhancing speed, transparency, and accessibility for end customers.
We look forward to participating in future Swift events and furthering the technological discussion within financial services – get in touch to continue the conversation.
